Hi! Thank you for purchasing a template from graphxfairy.com. Through out these instructions you will see short demos and images. If you choose to see a demo please give the page time to load. Thsandtht templates are designed to be easy to use, yet create a beautiful professional auction ad for you. There are some very simple steps you will need to follow. You will also need an image hosting service to maximize the potential of these templates. Please see our Image Host Instructions if you need some help or need a referral to a free host. You will have received a template from Thsandtht in one of 2 ways - A custom template via email or a blank template by instant download. The instructions on this page can be used in either case. Both methods will provide you with an .rtf (rich text format) file. This is where we start... You may use any plain text editor (Notepad, Wordpad, etc.) to open this file. I do not recommend MS Word as it's fomatting sometimes interferes with the HTML Code. Most computers have Wordpad. You may not see my color coding if you do not use Wordpad (must be a rich text format) To locate Wordpad -Click on your "Start" menu - select "All Programs" -select Accessories -Wordpad will be toward the bottom of this drop down menu. Step One: Open the template file - Example: sampletemplate.rtf If you try to open your file and do not see it, your text editor may default to .txt files. To find your template file simply click the down arrow
Once you have the file opened you will see the HTML code. You will notice that I have color-coded some of the text. This is to make the file easier for you to work with. <!--Text--> represent markers that do not appear in your ad. The Purple text lines are my comments and instructions. They will not appear in your ad. The Red text lines are the lines that you must change. This is your information and will be seen. Important: when you are replacing the red text with your own be careful not to replace any quotation marks, symbols or brackets – ONLY WHAT’S IN RED! "Save As" and rename this file so that you have the original and a working copy. Your "desktop" would be a good place.
Step Two: Add Your Scrolling Message and Auction Title Scroll down until you see the green comment marker labeled <!--Scrolling Text Begins-->
Scroll down until you see the green comment marker labeled <!-- Auction Title Begins--> Step Three: Adding Your Images
If you would like to add another image Highlight and copy the lines from <!-- Begin copy here --> to <!-- End copy here --> Then replace the second line of red text with your second image URL and so on... Please see our Image Hosting section for a demo if you are not familiar with image URL's Step Four: Entering Your Item Description Scroll to the green comment marker labeled <!-- Description Begins--> See our HTML tips and hints for more information on formatting your description. Step Five: Customizing Your Links Scroll to the green comment marker labeled <!--Links Begin--> Replace the red text with your Ebay User ID in each link. These links are set to Ebay's US Site, so if you are from a different ebay site you must change that as well. Example: if you are from the UK, you must change any instances of "ebay.com" to "ebay.co.uk" For example the link for contacting me currently reads: That is because my user name is thsandtht. If your user name was razzle and you were from the UK the link would look like this: If you would like to remove a link (for example you may not have a store) remove the entire lines below the appropriate green marker. For the Store Link you must use your STORE ID and not your regular user ID. Mine is Ths-And-Tht not just thsandtht. If you do not know it, simply visit your store and look up in the address bar. Locate your store name and place it in the template. Note: These would be preset with custom template. and many of my newer templates have active scripts in them that require you to do nothing with the links. Step Six: Adding your Terms of Sale To add another line simply copy one line from <li> to </li> and paste it directly beneath the last <li> line.
You are done customizing your Template!
When you are ready to post your listing, visit our posting instructions. I have tried to make this simple enough for the novice, but you may still have some questions. Always remember that I am here for you and can be reached at support@fabauctions.com for support. Again, thank you for your purchase. Sincerely, Image Hosting There are several free hosting sites on the web. You will need to register with one of them to take advantage of this template’s image areas. You may use Ebay Image hosting if you wish but you will need to insert the links. To do this you will need to do the following: - Sign in to "My Ebay" If you do not want to use ebay's picture manager and do not have an image host I will provide some links at the bottom of this section, but photobucket and imageshack are my favorites. Once you have registered with an image host follow their procedures for uploading a picture. You will be directed to an area that provides you with the code. This code is what you will copy and paste into the image section of your template. Photobucket Example In photobucket the image below will be below the thumbnail of your image in the Album View or to right of the screen in the individual picture's screen.
